Default New ABS modulator

I have read most articles regarding the ABS modulator, and was wondering...can you get a new one, and have they solved the issues? Is it all worth the $1800?

I doubt many of us have replaced them, so we can't answer intelligently.

That said, I seriously doubt they've changed the design, and IMO it certainly isn't worth $1800 to find out. The modulator works fine, it just needs to be modified, and the modification costs $5, so why pay $1800 for a new one?

Try this diagnostic regime before spending lots of cash on it.

I just purchased a used one off ebay for 200.00 that had a 2005 date on it. Works great so far.
They are dated on the top so look for the newest.

Thanks, guys...such a fragile system. I'll check the posted fix and take it from there.

I'm just north of you on hwy 30. I did the fix about 2 years ago and have no anticipation of it failing. It bypasses the weak link in a very durable system.

A good scan tool and some mods to make up for the penny pinching done by the designers goes a long way. A newer block will be good for awhile but its only a matter of time before the electrical issues come back.

Remember, when you drive a land rover, you'll always have your amigos with you!
