Exclamation New alternator. Won't crank

Ok so I just installed a new alternator and charged the battery. And jus now it wouldn't crank. So I jumped it off and now it dosent want to shift right (low battery?) could I jar a bad alt already less than 24hrs old?
Anything I might be missing? I'm on the way to get the battery/alternater cheake and I'll see which is bad or both. Any advice would be great. Thanks

Battery terminals/cables. Check and clean the starter/ground sides too.

Default alternator swap

I need to swap out my alternator as well. I saw in the RAVE that I'm supposed to remove the viscous fan w/ two special tools. Does anyone have a way around this, or where can I get the tools?

Last time I had to, I was able to remove the viscous fan using a pair of vice-grips. I wouldn't advise trying that, but it is possible.

You will need the universal water pump wrench and the fan clutch wrench, I believe 36mm is the correct size for your truck. You can buy these, but I would check an Autozone or Napa first. Oftentimes automotive stores will have these tools available for rent or loan.
