Default New D1 owner, What mods can i do?

Hi,
Im new in the landy world and just purchased a 1995 d1 V8i 5sp manual.

It already has a 2 inch lift, snorkel and winch bull bar.

What other mods can i do to make it perform better / look good?

I want to get flares on it and put 33's on if possible but here in australia flares are extremely expensive.

Is there any other flares from other cars that will fit with a little modification.

Also what parts can i change / upgrade and are other landys parts swapable?

Any ideas greatly welcomed.

Thanks in advance.

What are you trying to do?
Make it look better or perform better off road?

You can put a body lift on anything.
I dont know why, but you can.
These trucks are the best off road trucks in the world when they are 100% stock.
Personally I think they look stupid as hell with a huge lift. Not only will you lower your roll over angle (it is 45% stock) but it wont fit in a drive thru.
But hey, whatever floats your boat.

Read through the "how to" section before you do anything.

You can mod anything! I put an extension on my "oh ****" handles so I have something to grab while my elbow is on the window!

Since you're going only for looks, i'd say do whatever you like.
I never do any modifications for looks so I wouldn't have any idea where to tell you to start.

One warning, as such, for you is that your Rover , if it still has a stock diff, will have 12 spline axles and only 2 weak spiders gear which could fail with 33"s and it's mileage.
Consider doing a full service to get it up and current and take your time throwing parts at it.
1 Oil filter, K&N 3001 or Mobil 1- 301
1 Factory air filter
6 Qts. of engine oil
2 feet of 3/16th vacuum tube
2 feet of 5/16th vacuum tube
12 Qts. of ATF
7 Qts. of 80/90W synthetic gear oil, 85W/140 for HD use
3 Pints of synthetic DOT 4 Brake fluid
2 Qts of synthetic Power steering fluid
2 Gallons of OAT, orange coolant, also called DexCool
1 Bottle of Lucas Power Steering additive
1 Bottle of Lucas Transmission additive
1 Can of Spray Carb. Spray
1 Can Of Brake cleaner
8 Spark Plugs, I use Bosch Platinum Plus 4's
1 Set of Magnacor 8mm plug wires
1 Serpentine belt
2 Bottles of SeaFoam gas additive
1 T/Stat
1 bottle of WaterWetter or Purple Ice
Hoses and belts, as necessary

60,000 Mile Service or Major Service for High Mileage Used Vehicle just purchased

Bleed the brakes
Flush and change the power steering fluid adding one bottle of additive
Service the tranny adding one bottle of additive
Change the coolant and t/stat
Do an engine flush before changing the oil
Do an induction cleaning
Clean the throttle body
Add fuel additive to full gas tank
Change both of the diffs fluid
Change the t/case oil
Replace the plugs and wires
Replace the air filter
Lube all the drive shaft grease fitting including the 2 slip shafts
Do full inspection of brakes, hoses, bushings etc.

In your case with a high mileage D1, also inspect/replace all your wheel bearings and have your swivel serviced and set up.

Hopefully I didn't leave anything out.
