in your sound clip...do you mean that little hammering sound in the background when you step on the gas? Hate to say it but that sounds worrisome....rod bearing? Oil pressure OK? If it does not go away with exhaust fix...you might have to dig deeper.....

Yeah that louder "hammering" that on the clip that comes three or four times in a row.

Atleast the oil pressure warning light does not come on at all, on that ~5mile drive I had, goes away just about right after starting the engine. Haven't nanocommed it yet.

You mean these bearings? Just an example I found quickest.

Never done those before but doesn't seem too bad as You apparently can do it fron underneath removing the oilpan?

yeah, the big end bearings...but don't by them. The link is for 020 oversized. Not even sure if it is the bearings...or if that is the size you need. You can change them out from underneath, BUT really, the engine should be pulled and REALLY CLOSELY measured at all journals and rods and mains and piston pins and then you might as well check the cam and lifters, bores, rings head gaskets, seals, oil pump, water pump, etc. The re-build parts are not expensive so do it right the first time. BUT, you really need to find out what is making the sound before guessing or spending $$$...

if it is the engine, plenty of info on LRF to get you through the process...

Maybe someday, maybe someday, the engine will get done completely.

But before that I'll patch it up and play the "LandRover game".
My wife (she bought it for herself) is just pressing me to get the V8 roadworthy and pass it's MOT.
I'm not the one wanting to drive it the most......

Atleast I have my TD5 that's a trusty companion.

Realised that I haven't and posted something about it ~3 weeks ago.
https://landroverforums.com/forum/di...e6/#post850244

I haven't been active with it on this forum as it's a TD5, not too many here.
Activity at local Finnish Rover forum and in D2BC
I have an instagram account for it under @discobogeyman where I currently post mainly from backlog.

4.6 will have it's own instagram as soon as I get finishing up the account.
Meanwhile on this thread, Finnish Rover forum and D2BC

Pretty much AC is the only thing I won't be doing my self at all as it requires permits etc. can't buy like refrigerants or such here as a private person. Everything else I do myself. I have the tallest possible garage to do the stuff for these at, on our yard under the sky.

EDIT: Sorry, the D2BC is viewable only for registered users.

So, new coils and leads put in.

No way there is any need to remove the intake manifold. Even with my huge hands this was quite easily done.
https://streamable.com/1woyhz

Took around 1.5 hours in all, including trying a few different things and then getting it done.

But, still, misfires on cylinder 6.
So, what's the next thing to see about?
I'll see about the plug gaps tomorrow.

And what is that engine roughness thingy in nanocom, what does all that mean?

So, took off sparkplugs from cylinders 5 and 6.
6 being the misfiring one, 5 just for reference.

Took my highquality lidl/parkside ensdocope and put it in the cylinders.

Pictures here. Number on the corner means Cylinder# - Picture#

#6 does look a bit cleaner than #5, that is not too dirty either?
Both of the plugs definately smell like gasoline. and are no longer shine and new but black.

The gap on plugs was 0.7mm, manual says 1mm. It's what they came with, forgot to check.
So gonna regap them tomorrow.
