Default New D2 Radiator

I'm replacing my entire coolant system and am wondering what the best rad to purchase is. My '02 D2 has secondary air and I was assuming that a genuine LR rad would be the best option but I can't seem to find one anywhere. I only see genuine LR rads for D2s w/out secondary air.

Should I even be concerned about it being a genuine part? I'm using genuine parts everywhere else in the coolant system replacement. If not, what's the best one to purchase and where?

Thanks!

1. Use a thermostat from Land Rover, expect to pay $60 ish, and you want the 180F model, not original temp. Not dealer, but a place like Rovers North.
2. Rock Auto sells the Nissens radiators for about $200.

yep. Nissen's from Rock Auto.
I followed Savannah's advice and got a Nissens Radiator.
It works perfectly.

I never worry now about over heating ever.
Replaced all three - Thermostat with 180 degree, radiator and I put in a Hayden HD fan clutch which I got from EBay.
No problem since all three replaced.

Flush out your engine with distilled water, then add coolant and distilled water, no tap water.
Make sure to replace your coolant pressure cap at the same time.

Thanks guys, as always I am so grateful for your help! I'm actually replacing my entire engine with a rebuilt top hat 4.0 from Great Plains Rovers as well so my objective is to have a clean slate through and through. The 180deg stat is definitely on the checklist along with the new radiator and an ultra gauge. I'll be going with green coolant and never using Dexcool again as well.

So these Nissan radiators are the absolute way to go? Do I need a specific one since I have secondary air? Why are these Nissan rads the best? What sort of modification is necessary to install them in D2s?

I'm still considering replacing all the coolant hoses and (I dread the thought) maybe even the heater core too but that is, looking through the RAVE manual, quite a job w/ dashboard removal and all. I had Dexcool and used ceramic block sealant to bandage the bullet wound of a dropped liner w/ the existing coolant system so I want to rid myself of any leftover ill effects now that I'm spending thousands to start over. Do you guys think I'll be ok w/ out replacing the hoses and heater core too? I can't imagine that the rubber hoses would have dexcool/ceramic sealant sludge hanging on to their interiors. Then again, maybe so. Gonna have the shop flush the core and see if it passes water freely first.

Pardon my ever-helpful spell correct that turned "Nissens" into "Nissan"...

Hopefully reverse flush of core helps.

try flushing the heater core forward and backwards a few times, you maybe surprised at what you can get out of there by going back and forth to loosen things up.

Will I need to make any modifications in order for this this radiator to work on my '02 Disco? More Information for NISSENS 64313A Furthermore, does everyone agree that it is 'the one' to go with?

No modification needed for Nissens, and they are one of the better ones. It's what we sell at Rovers North, though I did just get a defective one in my Rover...
