I agree that the unions hurt GM, but they never planned on the future, look at Ford, big unions with legacy costs but they are doing fine.
They thought ahead, more fuel efficent cars and trucks that people want and they didnt have to file for bankrupcy.
GM just wanted market share, they had 54% of the new car market before the high gas prices last year, now they have 20%.
We have a Volvo station wagon with a turbo that gets 30+mpg as our #1 car, the Rover is a second car that we drive as little as possible.
