Default New Disco! - Got some questions

Hey. Thanks for keeping up a great forum.
I just got a 04 Disco with 70k miles. I took it to the dealer and had it checked out and they said everything looked good. I have a few questions:
1. On the freeways it tracks very poorly. The dealer said the tires are "egg shaped" and it was causing the loose steering. Has anyone ever had this issue? It really sucks to drive it on the freeway. Are Discos loose in general?
2. I want to add 16" wheels, tires and a 2-3" lift. I want it to look aggressive but still be functional on and off road. Would really love a 32" tire. I have ACE. I live in CA and want to be able to handle the trails. It's not a daily driver really, but I need to be able to drive it to the trails.
3. It needs new rotors/brakes in the front. Should I go slotted?

Think that's it for now.
Thanks...
-eric

Rotate your tires front to back and then see how it drives.
You dont need a lift and bigger tires to off-road in the world renouned best 4x4xfar.
If you are going to off-raod drilled and slotted rotors are not the way to go, they can fill with mud and throw everything out of balance.

Make sure that you get your double cardon joint on the front driveshaft replaced with a greasable one.

Hey Spike ...do the 04s need to have thefront driveshaft replaced with one that has grease zerks? I thought it was DIIs from 2002 and earlier?

(sorry ...don't mean to hijack the thread)

I do not know if the '04 has the double cardon joint or not. If it does then yes.
Crawl under the trk and look at where the front driveshaft connects to the transfer case, if there are two u-joints in one big knuckle looking thing that is your double cardon joint.
The problem is that the grease in the joint gets baked by the exhaust since it is close to the catalitic converter and once all the grease is baked and no longer doing its job the joint fails.
If you have it replaced with the greasable type then you grease it at every oil change and then the baked grease gets replaced with good grease and the joint will last for a long time.

Erick,
Common with old Good Year tires and or a bad steering stabilizer.
You can install a 2" lift from OME and be fine.
You don't want to replace only one axles rotors with DBA's or you will have braking issues.

What size are these tires and what lift would I need to get? What else would I have to do to make this happen? I am in love... Thanks!
