So I finally got my Land Rover!! I've had it about a two weeks now and I'm starting to really sort it out finally. My wipers are acting a little odd. On the intermittent setting they stop at random places throughout the stroke. In the fast position they act properly. Any idea what might be going on here?

Can be caused by a bad wiper switch and sometimes by a bad/failing park switch in the wiper motor that will stop the wiper when being turned off, at any spot of the windshield.
So what year truck did you buy, how mechanical are you? If you like to do your own work, might want to read my major service list posted at the top of this section and do it all, especially the rebuild/replacement of the front drive shaft before it fails.

Thanks everyone. I got a 2000 Red with the 4.0L with 115k on it. I'm planning on going through all of the major service stuff one item at a time. I'm fairly mechanical and will probably be doing most of it myself. I think it's probably the switch and not the parking one. It stops midstroke while the wipers are on, not just parking in the wrong spot.

I agree w/ Mike. It's probably the stalk switch. Don't try to clean it just replace it. I had a similar issue w/ my turn signal stalk switch. It would work when cold as soon as the the truck heated up it worked. I replaces it and haven't had a problem since.

Number one item you need to focus on is Replacing your front driveshaft w/ the newer updated serviceable u-joint one.

Like Bacardi and Cola...Do it Do it.

2000 is a good year. Same as mine. We have the CDL equiped Trasfer Case. Just need to install the linkage needed to utilize it. '02 and '03 are the red headed step child DII's...Especially the '03, related to the oil pump failures.

Yeah I saw that in the threads I've been reading. I slid underneath and it looks like the front shaft is the type that doesn't have the grease fittings so I think that will be the first thing I fix.
Other things on the list:
Find and replace relay for Aux lights
clean/replace wiper switch
rear ladder install
high clearance front and rear bumpers
replace pass side tsignal
and install the linkage for the cdL
are there step by step guides for this one?

In addition to the RAVE (factory shop, electrical, and owner manuals) there have been a number of threads on the linkage, and we do have a search button.
