The electrical library and schematics will keep you entertained for a long time. This is just a guess, but both seats and windows each have a separate ground header under the console. If for some reason they were either unplugged or if the lug was removed from the stud, neither seats nor windows would operate. Having the seats fail in the forward position suggested to me they were put there to remove the console, followed by some sort of wiring misfortune. Good luck.
I changed the transmission filter/fluid/gasket on my 02 D2 with 160K and had zero issues and from the way things looked I'm almost certain that filter has been in there for a very very long time. Maybe not the original unit, but darn close. Topped of the transmission fluid, and it shifts great with no issues. The issues start when people do a complete flush like say at Jiffy Lube on an older transmission.

Do you have power at the fuses? If yes, check for 12v at the switches. If you have power there, check to make sure the switches are working properly. If they are, move to one of the doors and make sure you're getting power to the motor. Even if you are seeing 12v there, I would try a bypass test. There's always a chance that the wires are carrying voltage, but not amperage.
I am going to get started on all the suggestions given regarding the electrical issue with the seats and the windows as soon as the rain lets up. I briefly checked the fuses under the dash yesterday and found only one blown fuse so far, but I am going to check the power to the fuses, then if needed move to the switches, and if needed move on to the motors and hopefully somewhere in the all this I can get things working back to normal.

Dropping the AT pan, replacing the filter (and o-rings), the gasket, cleaning off the pan magnet, and adding about 8qt of DEX III "shouldn't" have any effects on a good working transmission.
Problems can arise if you just drain/fill and leave the old filter, or you could have issues if the orings aren't installed or installed properly.
On a normally maintained D2 it shouldn't be a problem. On one that wasn't treated with love then yes, doing a transmission service will probably make it shift like crap because the transmission is already badly worn out from lack of proper maintenance and it can't handle the newer fluid.

D2 seats are known for getting nicks in the wires on the lower outer section where the wires run from the bottom of the seat to the top. Simply remove the outer trim piece and grab the harness and check for nicks. Out of 5 D2's I've owned 3 of them got nicks in the wires which popped the 40AMP fuse under the seat.
Okay here is the skinny on the electrical issues. Rtonder, you were right on. The center console had been removed at some point and most of everything under it was unplugged and as Best 4x4 stated a few wires had nicks in them. It took forever to figure it all out, I actually had to call in some help because all the wires going in every direction had me using words I don't usually use. However, the Sunroof now opens & closes, and the driver and passenger seats move in all directions. I had a few blown fuses and relays that were replaced, and the only issue I have now is that the rear passenger side window has a bad motor, but all of the other windows work as they should. I won't concern myself with that widow at the moment, but I will get to that sometime in the not too distant future I hope.
Now it is time to tackle those spongy brakes.
