Default New exhaust? Which aftermarket muffler?

Anyone know the part numbers for the "correct" aftermarket mufflers for a D2? I'm not necessarily looking for a whole kit, just the muffler details (i.e.- inlet/outlet size, location, model, etc)...

Other than the Magnaflow's and Borla's, what other options have you guys tried?

Local muffler shop, $100 out the door, center muffler only.

This is what I did. I removed the resanator, which is the center muffler, and left the O.E.M, at first I was disapointed, but after a while it ran even better, I think the computer needs time to read the changes, such as back pressure and air/flow.She sounds great and a little faster off the line.If the muffler needs replacing, I would get a Flow Master three chamber, they arnt to loud, but have a nice rumble. With these new mods I would recomend E-3 spark plugs.Spray your mass air flow censor with the propper cleaner, and even new plugs.

The center muffler is the muffler, the rear "muffler" is the resonator.

well I'm confused, I asked the muff shop to take the resanator off and they took the middle one out.O well it works well.If you look in the English Land Rover mags they sell a kit to replace the center Muff out with a straight pipe.

disregard most of this.

the rear coffee can is the resonator. cut that out. the center coffin is the muffler. i swapped that with a magnaflow muffler. sounds good and engine chugs along at less rpm and upshifts sooner ever since i swapped the cans. seems to pull a bit easier.

dont know anything about E3 plugs but most love iridiums and +4 boschs.

also avoid cleaning the MAF sensor as most cleaners (even MAF safe) will usually cause more harm then good to the MAF units on our trucks.
