I’m gonna bring my UG but the guys says the 01 runs steady at 200 degrees. He’s driving it every day right now.

Well gents, made a command decision. I’m in my truck on the way to get the car hauler, then I’m on my way to pick up my D2. Providing that it checks out OK. What I can tell, providing that both trucks are pretty equal and I’d say they pretty much are, I can’t really go wrong with either one so I’m just going to get the one that jumps out and grabs me.

I’ll post the pics and reveal which one I got when I get back home. Many thanks to all!

Congrats! You’ll be fine.

A couple points:
- I use Prestone 50/50 green stuff. Basically anything but Dexcool and you’ll be fine. If you are flushing (not a bad idea to do out of the hole) it can be really hard to get all the air out of the system, so either get the suction tool to get it all out, or do the due diligence the old school way.
- 200F is a bit high to me for daily driving. If you are going to flush, I’d get a 180F thermostat
- I think you did better in getting th 4.0L over the 4.6L as I think it’s just more reliable overall (and that will really rile up a lot of folks around here).
- It will be some serious work to get the 7 seats in, but it is nice to have.

Anything else that comes up will be pretty easily addressed through the multitude of outlets and the RAVE. I’ve just been doing some mild reading in it this morning about O2 sensors...

Yeah, but 4.6 > 4.0! LOL. Honestly I have done so many small things, and large things to my engine that I really need to go test drive some D2’s to see if I have really done anything.

Perfect day to pick up a Disco I’d say.

There it is! I went with the 04. The known fixes that he did plus the CDL put it over the edge. I had to get it before somebody else snagged it up.

Congratulations! Any 14 year old truck will need fixes, but at least you aren’t on the internet ordering parts and scheduling maintenance. I hope it runs well for you.

Thanks guys! I’ve tried to post a picture multiple times but for some reason I can’t post it now.
