New guy problems
Hi I have a 2003 land rover discovery. Drove it to Lowe's ran fine, came out started it and it began spitting and sputtering. She would barely move like if I touched the gas it would die. It would kind of chug along in drive at an idol pace. I had it towed home. Was told to change the fuel filter have searched the it from head to toe including removing the fuel pump to see if maybe it was in the tank... So if it anyone knows where it may be? Or has any advice i am all ears. I searched for fuel filter locations on the forum couldn't find any threads but probably messed that up as well.
Thinking Filter is incorporated with the pump back there. It is probably not the filter. You should check the pressure before all that. You can use a tire pressure gauge on the fuel rail
Thanks guys i changed the pump,... Changed nothing still sputtering barely idols or dies any other thoughts I am up to try anything.... Its gonna be hard to get it hooked to a computer gonna have to have it towed.
so if it sputtering the check engine light be on. if the check engine light is on your engine is giving codes that will hint at what the issue is. go to the auto parts store and rent or buy the odb2 scanner and read those codes. write them down and post them here.
AS disco Mike would say "what are the codes?"
sputtering means bad air, bad spark or poor fuel supply. It can also mean the sensors that measure and monitor the big three are not working properly.
