Almost pulled the trigger on the OME, and then I tripped across a little internet secret called RTEfab.

I'll run RTE if I go out of a box, or nothing.

With the right bits removed, one can run a 32/10.50/15 on a stock Chevy S-10 (by bits I just pulled the plasticky bumpers off) wheel with no rub.
If you step to a 32/11.5/15", you'll rub just a fuzz at full lock.

When i see these rims, I think 2002 4wd S-10

The Swampers were sexier... but blowing 2 of them on the same side out at 65 mph sucked a little bit... these were the 10 wides.

Regardless of lift, if you plan to wheel it, that front sway bar is the Devil. Like worse than an Ex-Wife.

Cut yer ties!!!!!!!! (or make it disco-able)

Define "direct".

If by direct, do you mean some caliper smoothing in the back, and either a ditching or a trimming of the dust shields, then yes.

If you mean plug and play, find a 16" (1986~ Vette or Iroc/Z28 would be kick ***, and an 8-9" rim at that)

I don't think I took more than an 1/8 off the caliper.

I do know for a surety, I took less meat than is required to put 15's on tons, and a more negative offset would have required no trimming.

It was a spot on top of the caliper, smaller than the size of the top of a cigarette pac that needed massaged.

That's good to know. I have been looking for wheels 15" or 16" steel that would fit.

I wasn't sure since some are lug centric and some hub centric and not too up on all of that.

I also wasn't sure if you could use 4.75" on 120mm bolt pattern but, I guess you just answered that question.

and not too up on which wheels would work due to different offset.

Anyway your wheels and tires look good, I want to ditch the 18" since not enough choices in tires and not enough sidewall on the 18" in the largest size that will fit without running into problems.

7" wheels will work for me since I'm looking at tall skinny grips.

I was looking and there are alot of different year ranges for S-10 wheels, I'm guessing different offset? maybe I'll just look for some with the slots that look like yours since different years look a little different and we know yours will work..

thanks for posting the pics...very helpful.

any other tips you have about mods and cheap mods would be good!

LRIax11, sorry for the temporary hijack.

Keep in mind RMT is correct. You won't be happy with an OME lift if you like the way it rides stock. It looks cool and you can fit bigger tires, yes.

However you will get a stiff ride unless you have at least two BBW's in the vehicle at all times... or the equivalent weight in accessories and gear.

I have the Medium duty 2" lift and no BBW's. My truck now bounces off the bumps in the roads rather than absorbing them. I prefer the stock setup on road.

I thought the MD setup would be a compromise but so far, not so much... Maybe so once I have steel bumpers all around, winch, a big roof rack, and a few hundred pounds of camping gear on board... Or BBW's... but none of that will be happening soon. :-)
it is my everyday car but I do a bit of off roading on the weekends sometimes and I go mudding when it rains. I don't have any equipment or BBW's for my car either so what should I go with. sorry for the butt load of questions but I just want the best compromise on price and quality for my truck
