I try. Been around the block long enough to walk away from someone else's crap -- Bought a VW once that I thought was the coolest thing and it turned out to be the biggest POS ever.

Looked at another 03' yesterday -- cleanest one i've seen and fully stock. The nice lady didn't really know much about it, she speculated they were the 3rd-4th owners and didn't really have an service history other than a receipt for wiper blades

About to call another fellow with an 04' SE7 that looks real clean but has hail damage -- bleh. It's a single owner car which is a good thing..

Its hard to find a good Disco!

edit/rant: ALL THE DAMN DISCOS HERE ARE EITHER WINE RED OR CHAMPAGNE

If by "hmmm", you mean this thing has been ridden HARD and put away wet many, many times... and is over priced, then I agree.

And I understand your frustration trying to find a Disco in good shape at this (or any) price point.
Just don't talk yourself into a LR (or anything used), keep looking you'll find the right truck. Good Luck!

Thanks OR

I'm hopin' this 04 that i'm looking at tomorrow is gonna be a good one -- i don't mind a little hail damage and its apparently got a full service history.

Well, might as well keep this thread updated.. for.. me?

04' SE7 sold.. bleh!

Might have a lead on an 03' with a rebuilt motor / tranny that has been maintained by a rover enthusiast..

I done and bought an 01' Disco.. Flying to Seattle on Friday and driving it back to Colorado with a good friend of mine

Just had a tune up, Carfax is clean and she's ready to hit the road.

I'll post some pics later, don't want it to get swiped out from under me from one of YOU guys

1,200 miles should be.. interesting. Bringing and Ultragauge, and an AL619 -- probably gonna buy a set of tools when i land. Coolant / oil / gear oil will also be purchased.

Any other suggestions?

It will be fine, just enjoy the adventure. Few tools, a credit card and a little luck and you'll be home in no time at all.

Best of luck.

I've enjoyed reading the thread and following your journey buying a disco.

Enjoy the trip! You have the opportunity to drive through some beautiful country, I'm jealous.

It might be wise to have on hand a set of idler pulleys and a belt, depending on their condition/mileage.

Safe Travels
