Actually Since you are doing this tomorrow, I would modify that route and go south on I5 to Portland, then east on 84 to Utah. That avoids Snoqualmie pass, which is expected to get 10 new inches of snow today and is pretty much chains required driving with the exception of 4wd vehicles with appropriate winter tires. Maybe the Rover would make it but you have to consider they stop traffic all the time for avalanche work and the driving is slow if there are accidents. With the PDX route you would be snow free until you got to eastern Oregon at the least. And there are good LR indy shops in Portland if you have issues... East of Seattle on 90/82, no rover shops.
That would at least let you settle in to the vehicle before putting it to a major winter test.

Takena good long look at the weather forecast. The winds on the plains and storms are nuts, but either rout could be bad.
Would not be a bad idea to get a tape adapter for your phone. I doubt you’d want to install a from Bluetooth/iPhone adapter, but it would be possible.

Thanks for this, I really appreciate it. Weather seems rather blah so your suggestion is a good one.
BUT -- the seller is being kinda wonky and isn't really getting back to me so I might just f-ck it and not get on the plane tomorrow, I'd only be out of $130.

Too bad I’ve not kept up close with this thread as I was in Seattle this week.
I’ve done a fly and drive for both my Discos: one from Estes Park and the other from LA. I was way more prepared the second time around despite getting a way better truck. The first one ended up with the Amigos, a bad radiator, and a bunch of other little things on the way home, while the current one had very minimal. I did bring a sleeping bag and slept in the truck on both trips (80 was closed on the first one).
If you come down through SLC and have issues I could sort you out. Have fun! I’ve done a few fly and drive/rides and they are a fun little adventure.
