New power steering pump installed. Now it sounds like I have a supercharger.

Why was the pump replaced ? Did any old steering component grenaded shrapnel inside pipes ?

OK, the o-ring WAS actually on there, I just didn't notice it in the shadowy darkness of the engine, coupled with the bit of grime down there. Installed a new one nonetheless. No change. Is in fact a DOA pump. New one arriving Tuesday.

The spindle inexplicably walked right out the front of the pump.

The replacement pump arrived… in a Britpart box. Should I even bother installing or just assume it’s already dead too…
