No, The idea is to have the same flex as you would if you remove the bolt without having to do so.
The bracket for the passenger-side brings your bushings closer together, thus allowing more flex.
Driver-side caster is set.

The idea is that your arms are not fighting/binding one another in their articulation

coffee, will not help. I have been researching long arms, arm angles, bushings, articulating joints for the arms, etc.for a few days and am more puzzled at the end of each day.
next plan is to write down set ups on pieces of paper and draw one out of a hat.

but a hardhat so it will seem like an engineered decision.

Of course a hardhat. I think I see what your end goal is with your Disco. And if I'm right I think it would be easier to move your disco body over to a bronco or K5 frame and guts.

Bronco + disco= Dusty dream rig

man, I'm just trying to look cool as I climb speed bumps at northpark mall. some pretty wicked approach angles in the nordstrom lot

I feel you. If you lift it to much it would be hard to ghost ride the whip.

Glad the throttle switch didn't 'throw a wobbly' otherwise they could have been looking very 'Tom & Dick' (sick) chasing that D1 down the road.

I wonder if it has a "nobody wants to play with me" vocalized horn. got to admit I kind of wanted to see more of the 8x8.
