New Tire Time
Finally, a wearing, leaky tire, and actual money are apparently going to coincide.
Tire Kingdom has been my go to supplier for years, but the only thing they have in 255/65R16 109H is a Cooper Discoverer, which is, to quote Monty Python, Right Out.
I'm thinking I'd like to put on Michelin LTX either M/S, M/S2 or A/T2 (for heavy weather and light off-road on factory alloys in Florida), but
Would anyone care to hold forth on a) these models of tire, b) what impacts 255/70 will have on wheel clearance and mounting safety, and c) just how much more aggressive (read: noisy) the A/Ts are given that I don't do even moderate wheeling, much less severe?
Like many folks, I just want to be sure that when I have to go over the curb into the muddy grass, I have a fighting chance not to 1) get stuck or 2) break anything.

- the M/S2s don't have a high enough load rating in that size, they're only a 106,
- the M/S are only available in 275, which I'm sure will cut into my already kind of wimpy turning radius, and
- the A/T2s, like the M/S2s, are available with a usable load range, but only in 255/70R16.

you can do the math here ^^^ the width is exactly the same. the 255/70 is one inch bigger in diameter. Sorry for the above mistake, its not a 32x10, its a 30x10. I was looking into tires earlier today for my Disco which has 18's, thats where the 255/70 is a 32x10.

I just installed 255/70R18 Hankook Dynapro ATM on my DII. They measure 32.1 x 10.2. I have a TF med springs and SLS spacers in the rear. I had some initial rubbing in the front left bumper/ The previous owner hit something and i didn't realize that the bumper shifted. A minuted of pulling resolved that issue.

I thought 255 measured the diameter, but clearly, I'm wrong. Width, then?
And I'm correct in thinking there are no bead-seat problems in this swap on the factory 16's, right?

I got a great deal from DTD during their Labor Day sale. Got the set for $628 via their eBay store -$75 DTD rebate and -$40 Hankook rebate = $513 for the set.
I still need to buy one for my spare and modify the spare tire carrier.
