Default New windshield, wipers not working now!

Our 95 Disco just had a new windshield put in, and the first time I went to use the wipers they don't work. Now they have always been a tad touchy, sometimes having to toggle between the speeds to get them working, but they'd always work at least.

I am not sure if this is coincidence or not that they stopped working when the windshield is replaced. When replacing a windshield I would think all that would be taken off would be the arm assembly, is it possible that more that this needs to be taken off as far as the wipers are concerned, and he may have missed something in the re-install?

When I put the lever down or in any of the on positions, you can see and hear the arm move just a smidge, but it won't do anything else. The fuse is fine so I'm not sure what else to look for.

Any suggestions?

thanks

make sure the arms are tight, maybe they didn't get them tight and they are just sliding on the inside of the connection. that would be my first guess

Like tweak said check the nuts that hold the wiper arms on.

Arms are on fine, nuts are tight etc, I even pulled the arms off and tried it and the mechanism isn't turning at all. I can see the arm twitch a bit when I put the switch on, but that's all it does.

Sounds like your wiper transmision is bad.
Open the hood and see if your wiper motor is working.

Thanks - I just tried leaving the key on without the engine running and turning the wiper switch on, I can hear the switch engage when the wiper arm moves a tad, but thats all I get.

Where is the motor exactly? I popped the hood to have a look see but the whole wiper mechanism is well hidden on these things.

Sorry, your right the wiper motor and stuff is behind the firewall/under the dash kinda thing.
The last car I had a wiper transmisison go out on was Chevy work truck and the wiper motor and stuff is right there under the hood, a hour and your done.

Sorry but I got nothing else to offer other than to look for the RAVE download, several guys have it in their signnitures, it is the shop manual for LR's, and I mean the dealer uses this same exact manual so it is the repair manual to have.
AK Rover has it in his sig as well as others.
