I have had issues every time I stray from the Champions. E3's, NGK the list goes on. I am sure others have had 10mpg and 30HP gains. Speak up!

Forum preference seems to be NGK. I've run them in everything I've ever driven with no desire to stray. That said, as long as you stay away from Bosch you're good. They're the only plugs on the market that I quite literally wouldn't install even if they were given to me for free unless I had no other option and had to fix a misfire to get home.

You won't go wrong with the NGKs, Champions, even Autolites are fine.

X1 ........... but remember the expression, 'the harder the plug the harder the start' Use the recommended grades for the status only, nothing harder.

Thank you all. I think I am going to try those Iradium plugs for the heck of it. I do have another question.my engine knocks a lot when i start in the morning (Cold). seems like chocking and going to shut off. After driving a while it's all normal. This is a new issue I never had. Thank you for any advice.

I change everything regularly. Oil need to change soon. I recently switch Rotella T6 to 15W40. I was loosing a lot of oil on T6. but now there is no more oil loosing and seems run better.

This is a new issue I never had.
Could be manifold or y-pipe flange exhaust leaks and a good place to begin looking to eliminate the easy stuff first.

I've used NGK Plugs for years (Double Platinum/Iridium) and they are excellent spark plugs. A lot of manufacturers use them as OEM. I know all 3 of my Jeeps came with NGK plugs, and my LR3 also came with NGK off the factory floor.

I used to use Champion Spark Plugs when they had the gold/black Truck Plug back in the day of non Platinum Plugs. I however never had much luck with their Platinum Plugs. Same goes for Bosch and their horrible design with the flush electrode on the original Platinum Plug and the 2x/4x Plugs. I've used Autolite Double Platinum/Iridium in several LR's because that's all the local auto part stores had and I've good results with them as well. I like how their also available pretty much everywhere.

What Number 9 said, I have a Y pipe leak and you have the exact same symptom. Had it for about a month now... Oddly it seems to be getting better rather than worse... Maybe soot is slowly filling the crack? The crack appeared right after the manifolds were removed and reinstalled.

NGK plugs with good results here. Formerly had the Bosch +4 Irridiums, I could not tell the difference between the two brands by ear, foot, or by mileage.

Crawl under it, and carefully check the 6 nuts securing the cats to the exhaust manifolds. They can sometimes work loose from vibration and all that is needed is a little lube, and tightening them up (DO NOT GO NUTS with the tightening or you could snap a stud off). The gaskets can fail, studs can break = exhaust tick under load, at a cold start up.

I have had some misfires in the last two months that was strange. could the Y-Pipe leak issue related to that? I know I have some rust issue from Salt and snow.

It's too darn Cold here to even try to play around with. Hopefully I will be able to have look this week.

Thanks
