Default Nightmare ACE Amber Light

Hi all,

My 2004 Disco's been in the garage about 4 times for this, they've spent many hours trying to fix it - now getting desperate and broke!

The story so far:
Amber ACE on almost all the time
Garage computer plug in showed a Directional Valve fault, so it was replaced
Amber ACE again
Computer linked up: Valve replaced still showing faulty and now another valve is also faulty! Maybe it's the ECU?
A second hand one was fitted to see if this was the case, it worked
A new ECU was ordered and fitted, but the Amber came up again, but no fault was recorded.
A different second hand one was fitted, again it worked.
Another new ECU was fitted, but again the Amber light came up, but no fault.
A second hand ECU was fitted, since this appeared to be the answer and worked, test drive was a success, but as soon as I'd picked it up and was a mile away the Amber came back on!
Back to the garage, plugged back in, the originally replaced valve was at fault.
A response test was run several times and reacted as it should, after this the computer tested the system twice and it passed!
Amber light off for all of about 10 feet! Now back home with car and a lighter wallet and have no idea what to do next!

NB: All secondhand ECU's have been from early Disco's as these seemed to work.

Any help would be great, thanks
