Default No crank condition, not immobilized? 2003 DII

Greetings all,
Today my D2 has decided that it doesn't want to crank, while parked on the street outside a coffee shop... The vehicle does not appear to be alarmed/immobilized, the red immobilizer LED on the dash turns on & off like normal when the driver's door is locked & unlocked with the key.
Battery voltage is fine (12.3V), tried swapping relays, checked fuses, etc.
Upon removing the starter relay, I have the 12v constant supply on one terminal, and 12v to one side of the relay's coil when the key is turned to the crank position. However, I do not get a ground on the other side of the coil when the key is in the crank position.
Looking at the wiring diagram, presumably I have 12v on wire C0573-5 from the key switch, but no ground on C0573-7 from the BCU.

How do I test if this is an immobilizer issue, and not something else? What else could be the issue?
Any response is appreciated, as the car is currently sitting on the street!
Thanks!

Battery connections goes without saying but check both ends of the negative terminal, as well as the positive at the starter.

BCU has it halted. Make sure it is in park fully, or perhaps try neutral, also check the transfer case shifter. If it is not immobilized that is the only safety circuit controlled by the BCU. Of course if you have power at the relay you can jumper it to get the truck started but it might move right away.

I’m sure Extinct is right. When that’s happened to me, I forgot to put it in Park when shutting down.

If the XYZ switch is very slightly out of alignment, it's possible to be in Park but not have that register electronically. Try lifting up the bezel surrounding the shift lever so you can push in the interlock pin, move the lever into D, then push it firmly forward into Park again. Then see if you can start it.

Easier in those situations to hunt for a spot in neutral.

I couldn't remember if the system allowed you to start in neutral. You often still have to lift up the bezel to move the lever if you're in park. My last truck would do this all the time.
