No Heat At Idle
#11
I'm thinking at very minimum your water pump need replaced. Sounds like something happened to the impeller and it's not moving the proper amount of fluid at idle. It's not uncommon for vanes to break off the impeller wheel in a water pump.
Isn't this the 2004 you looked all over the country for? Not trying to open a wound, just trying to get the back information right. I have been gone from the forum for a while and starting to forget details I used to know so I'm having to catch up on those as well as learn the new members on the forum.

Hello AK! Good to see you again, bro.
Yep, this is my New England Baby.
Maybe I'll have them do the water pump as long as they're in there- I emailed Paul and told him last night, but it ended up being a head-gasket.
So, I told them to go ahead and do the job. I just hope it didn't heat up to the point where I damaged the block. I'll find out about the heads when they test them, but I'm worried about my poor block.
You know, it's the damndest thing, guys: You all say that around 60,000 miles, the headgaskets WILL go.
Well, this sexy beast rolled over to 60,000 the DAY BEFORE this happened.
Pretty wild, eh?
Thanks for all the tips brothers. Is there anything I should have them do while they are *****-deep into my engine?
Thanks!
Pat
