Default No low Beams after Replace Instrument Lights

Hi All. My 2004 D2 with Daytime Running Lights activated no longer has working low beams after I upgraded my instrument back-lighting to LED. My wife has the car now, but tonight I will check fuses 9 & 10. One thing I'm starting to suspect is if I connected the multi-plugs to the wrong switches on the Instrument Cowl (reaching at straws here). I took a picture of them (left side) before disconnecting them (see below), but there was an extra black plug that doesn't seem to connect to anything.

Does anyone have any ideas on what else to check OR a diagram showing what plug goes to what switch? I checked the rave and couldn't find this.

Thanks
Tim

I just checked fuse 9 & 10 and both are good. I swapped the relay for the DRL with another and that didn't work. I pulled the instrument cowl and made sure all the multi plugs were plugged into the switches.

So far my symptoms are the running lights work, the high beams work, but the low beams do not. The top three switches for fog lights aren't working either.

Somebody call Captain Obvious...both low beam bulbs were burnt out! Weird that they both went out at the same time and the same day I was doing the instrument bulbs. Sometimes you just have to go back to basics and check the obvious even when it doesn't make sense.

Glad you got that fixed. Murphy’s law ! What kind of bulbs do you use for the instrument cluster ? I’ve been replacing my exterior and interior map light bulbs. Thanks

I got the bulbs from SuperBrieghtLeds. Instrument Cluster bulbs are:

Blue base is high beam p/n YAW100050 (1 ea)
Grey base is LCD backlight p/n YAW100020 (1 ea)
Brown base is gauge illumination p/n YAW100040 (3 ea)

LED alternatives:
YAW100050: https://www.superbrightleds.com/more...panel-led/709/
YAW100020 [pick the B8.4D]: https://www.superbrightleds.com/more...l-led-car/223/
YAW100040: https://www.superbrightleds.com/more...rofit-car/841/

They seem a bit too bright. I may later try to dim them down with a series resistor, but that is for a future project.

As for the headlights, I'd like to find an H7 bulb that lasts longer then a year. I might try the Osram Ultra life next. I'm open to any recommended H7 LED replacements anyone might have.

Appreciate it. I purchased all of the external and map lights from superbright. Haven’t installed the headlights yet but happy with what I’ve installed so far.

thanks

i had that issue tracking down brake lights a year or two ago....all 3 were out. I never would have bet that was the issue but sure enough it was that simple. Glad to hear it was a simple issue!
