Do you have the RAVE (LR Factory Service Manual)?
Hey Wolf...do you have the RAVE?
Go here for ALL specs and repairs: land rover service factory manual RAVE download land rover resource, service manual, workshop factory manual, download, rave, vehicles including discovery, series, defender, range rover, freelander, LR3, Handbooks, Catalog, Catalogue, Land Rover Inte
Look on page 118...1 Pint = 0.125 Gallons...24.2 to 26.2 pt. depending on refill or from dry...use any aluminum safe 50/50 pre-mix coolant (except dex-cool IMO)
Good luck...

Wolf...this is a HUGE file...do NOT click here: "Land Rover RAVE Service Manual large file warning 590MB"
Instead, click where it says "Discovery II" in the menu below that you see when you click on the original link.
Service Manuals
Final edition of the RAVE (Land Rover Service Manual).
This version includes the following Land Rover models up to year 2004:
New Range Rover
Range Rover (P38)
Range Rover Classic
Discovery II <<<<<<<CLICK HERE
Discovery
Freelander
Defender
DO NOT NAVIGATE AWAY FROM THE PAGE WHEN YOU CLICK ON THE "Discovery II" link...it will take about 1-3 minutes to download depending on your internet connection (assuming you have hi speed; dial-up, forget it!).

Thanks Spike555, I was told that the cooling system holds 4 gal of fluid. Is this correct? I only had put in 2 gal of straight antifreeze to mix with the already 2 gal of water in the system. Was I told the wrong info or am I ok with this presumption? Just did a search and found that the cooling system takes 14 qts. (3.5 gal). So I should be good with me mixture, right?
The DI cooling system holds approx 3.
To make sure you get it right I would drain it and refill with a premixed coolant.

Interesting...from my earlier post above..."Look on page 118...1 Pint = 0.125 Gallons...24.2 to 26.2 pt. depending on refill or from dry"...I just verified for NAS vehicles...where did you read 13 liters (pg # please)?
The RAVE has been known to be wrong at times...though very rare...but I would have to agree with Spike that even at 20% increase/decrease in coolant to water ratio can really screw up our DII coolant systems.
As far as how many US gallons, I would have to refer to DiscoMike and Antichrist as too the accurate amount in US gallons as I'm willing to bet they have flushed a coolant systems in LRs more than any of us...if my memory serves me correct, I bought 3 gallons and still have about a 1/2 gallon in the garage (Peak).
Regardless, buy 4 gallons, bleed correctly and return and/or keep the rest.
