No power to fuel pump 2004 Discovery
#2
I have:
Reset the inertia switch.
Filled the tank with 3 gallons of fuel
Pulled the pump to check for debris, no debris found.
After pulling the pump the pump didn’t turn on
Tested the pump by connecting a battery directly to the pump and it ran
ive tested continuity on positive and ground wires from the connector at the pump all the back to the relay, ‘0’ ohms all the way.
Disconnected the inertia switch and jumped it
The engine cranks and starts about every 3rd try after I ‘prime’ it by connecting the test battery directly to the pump but the engine will only run for 2 seconds then quits.
I am at a loss and need to get it fixed.

Does the pump run when you crank the engine?
As far as I know the pump doesnt start up until you start cranking unlike most cars that run the pump for afew seconds when you first switch the ignition on.
If there is air in the lines, then it might not be getting enough fuel to start the truck. Try hooking the pump up directly to power and wait 10 seconds then crank for afew seconds then wait again and repeat to clear out any remaining air.
