Default No start/no fuel help!

My son-in-law just bought a 2001, no start one day. Has spark, will run briefly with starting fluid.

We searched and read as many threads as possible, here is what we have done:

Checked all fuses
New Bosch CPS (installed correctly)
New Battery (it needed it anyway)
Jumped out fuel pump relay
Accessed fuel pump directly, pumps fine.

So, here we are, we are trailering it to my house next week to work on it ( I am retired and have time to tackle it)

My next step is removing the interior fuse block and cleaning it, and checking for fuel pressure at the rail if I can get to it, I have not researched that yet.

Any other insight or suggestion is most welcome!

TIA,
Jeff

There's a schrader at the back of the rail where you can test pressure however it the pump is running when backdoor'd then the problem is likely something else other than a pressure value. How much run time has he got with it? Can you confirm it's otherwise fine, aka not an immobilizer problem or something more global? Have you checked for codes? You may save some time by renting the Nanocom from Brendan318, check the sticky section.

I have a Foxwell NT510, there was a code I wrote down that I will have to find, a "universal bus code" type thing which searches showed could be any number of things..

He just bought it, the PO had done extensive maintenance since new, new head gaskets (second owner he said, and a neat truck, very spartan, no sunroofs, etc.)

Anyway, it may be an immobilizer issue. When it gets here I;ll start looking down that rabbit hole as well. First step is a full charge and hitting that fuse block.

Thanks, ahab.

Jeff

Did you check the Inertia Safety Switch under the hood? If this is tripped it could be causing your issue. Not sure if the pump "back door" removes the switch from the equation but it's worth checking anyway.

Thanks. We did try that switch trip, no luck. Also installed a new fuel pump, no luck there either.

Still working on getting it down here to my place to chase the immobilizer / fuse block issues.

Thanks for all the help.
