I need to change all the fluid, redo the valve cover Garket and deal with this whining noise. starting tomorrow. I am going to order from Amazon Prime so I can get it on time if i can. A lot if work. I have not done anything for a while so its due.

Thanks for your help.

I wonder if these Pulleys cross reference to some some pulleys i can get local supplies.

The pulleys should be readily available inexpensively at your favorite, local auto parts store. Nothing special.

Well finally I think I figured out it's the AC compressor bearing that is making that noise and the 80mm idler Pulley is also making some noise.

Wonder if the compressor bearing is easy to replace. Not sure what it takes to replace the Compressor. will appreciate any suggestions

Thanks

I'm not sure about the bearing but replacing the compressor is not hard. The problem is bleeding the refrigerant out and drawing a vacuum before you recharge it. I was able to do that with an extra filler hose (on the forums somewhere... "redneck air conditioner" or something like that) but it is better to have a shop do it (I guess. Mine works fine). My replacement compressor was used. About 29 bucks incl. shipping. It has worked for several years.

Well the a/c clutch can be a pia on any vehicle. The a/c compressor itself isn't hard to remove and swap out, just a pain to pull a vacuum n charge it. If you put a new or renamed compressor on, make sure to add the refrigerant oil and the proper amount of freon. I know some people will disagree with this but you can let it out into the ozone. The reason they swapped to r-134 was BC it was ozone friendly but they still wanna charge an arm and a leg to "recover it" and then most places will reuse the recovered freon

And spray some white lithium grease on the ac clutch n see if that will help knock the noise down a little. You can also turn the ac off and see if it's still making the noise to verify if it's the main bearing or just the clutch

I was spinning by hand clutch was not engaged. so it's definitely the main bearing. Spraying may help temporarily but if the bearing is shot then that needs to be replaced.

1. If i can just replace the Bearing then I am all set.

2. If I have to replace the compressor then I have a big project with vacuuming, oil, recharge etc.

Thanks
