Default noise when shifting

Iboughta 2003Disco II a few weeks back with automatic tranny. It just reached 60k, and I have plans this weekend to do the fluids overhaul recommended by Discomike and a few others. Two days ago the transmission started whirring a bit (I guess a whirr is not as serious as a grind. It isn't a grind. yet) when I shifted into D. After the short drive to work it doesn't do it, pretty much for the rest of the day. My beginner mechanic mind is thinking the tranny fluid is worn out and is not sticking to the gears, andas I drive around it is gettingcirculated back where it is needed. I'm calling fluid emergency and I'm changing that stuff 2night.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

You may be running low on ATF. When you cahnge your fluid add a bottle of Lucas tranny additive to help the tranny operations.
