Default Noise while at a stop

I noticed every once in a while I get a strange sound coming from the engine when I stop. If I am driving for a while, I will notice when I come to a light, it sounds like a fan is starting and then slows down. It sometimes will do this more than once.

We also have a mini cooper that will sometimes do the same thing. I am just wondering if anyone has ever encountered this, if it is maybe something the British cars will do, or if it is any cause for concern. Thanks.

Normal, the fan comes on to cool things down.

It is your electric fan coming on, you can start the truck, turn on your A/C and then stand in front of the truck and you will hear it come on and off with the A/C compressor.
Something with your Mini.
