Default O2 sensor question

I was reading that there is an o2 sensor socket needed to remove the o2 sensors from our disco IIs. What size is it and is it necessary to remove the sensor or just a nice to have item? I assume I can purchase this part at any autozone?
Thanks

22mm and yes you really need one to get them out. I'm sure you could use any 22mm crowfoot wrench but the O2 sensor wrenches are pretty heavy duty and cheap.

Thats one of them tools that are nice to have but arent really neccasary in my opinion. You can usually pick them up at about any parts stores or tool places. I usually use an open end wrench unless its seized up real bad then i just cut the wire and use a regular socket......just my $.02

The OEM brand O2 socket is $9.99 at Autozone. You can also rent one for free when returned to AutoZone. The tool is only really required for the front drivers side. The bend of the exhaust pipe and tight space make it nearly impossible reach with a opened ended wrench. I found its easiest to unplug the wire before removing each sensor.
