OBD Codes
Greetings. I'm new to Land Rovers and new to the site. Bought an '02 Disco II Kalahai about 4 months ago and a '98 Disco I about 2 months ago. The check engine light came on this weekend on the '98 right after I had it serviced at the quick oil change place. I think this is only a coincidence. They have been servicing the '02 since it was new and keep filters on hand for it. It currently has a tank full of mid grade fuel and has been running fine on it. I stopped by Auto Zone today to get the codes and it has a P0316. They also told me it said need plugs and wires. Any help with this code? I did put a bottle of Chevron Techron in today also.
First start running the good gas, you will pick up nearly a mile per gallon and not carbon up your valve stems, which D1's are know to do.
Also if they are not using a factory filter, a Mobil 1 or a K&N 3001 oil filter, stop using theirs. Cheap oil filters let rovers loose oil trghe oil from the filter and pump giving you dry starts which can really hurt your engine.

I am definitely back on the good gas only. Not sure what filter they used at the oil change but will check on that. It was very odd that the check engine light came on within a mile or so of leaving the oil change place. Could have been a cause ofa cheap filter? The same place changed the oil on the D2 about a month ago and no problems with it. They have been servicing the D2 since it was new. Prior owner was the owner of Skyjacker Suspension here in my hometown. As a result, the D2 has a 2" lift. Check them out at www.skyjacker.com. Thanks for the info.
