Default Odd Power steering issue

I had my steering box replaced a few weeks back and everything has been fine. Yesterday I drove in and out of Vancouver about 4 hours mix of highway and regular streets with a few stops.

Near home turning a near stop the steer got very stiff, no issues at speed. A little later making a left same thing.

Got home check the fluid level and for motion in the tank seems fine and the fluid is clear. Took a short drive no issues steering worked as expected.

Check for leaks none found there is some dye in the fluid, I did find one tire rod end leaking grease so I greased that.

My suspicion is the pump, assuming it is the pump is replacing the lines recommended ?
Are there any good tests to check the pump ?
Is a full fluid flush worth doing as a diagnostic ?

Smalll update did a lock to 3 or 4 times got a couple of bubbles out - flow seems strong - no issues with the wheel.

I wonder if the idle speed dropped very low when the problem happened.

@JohnZo It was odd no problems tonight either, it could be an aging pump or hoses or just the universe having a whacky sense of humor.

Check the condition of your steering column. My bearings gave me this issue for years, and finally seized up.

Final update for now , the problem has not re-occurred. Another long 100 miles and no issues I will update this thread if there is a re-occurance.

Thanks for all the suggestions I will be going over them in spring
