@redrover75 I have not yet, but I suspect I will this year as I run cooler most days 177, I figure I will just add a grill cover and tweak that to get a good temp.

I just put in a 190° stat a week or so ago. It doesn’t get super hot here in Colorado, but as fall is setting in already (mornings in the upper 40s and daytime highs in the 70s), I was getting that blasted code daily or even several times a day. The 190° stat immediately corrected for that. I’ll keep it in until our temps get back into the 80s here late next spring or early summer.

Amazing product
I’m a new D2 owner but have done a lot of research on them. I know enough to know these things overheat or run at higher temps. But with this thing… problem solved. Before the install I couldn’t sit in the school pickup line without it climbing to 215 or better. One time my check engine light came on. Since the install my rig has seen 180° on my ultra gauge maybe once. Super excited for this!

I installed a 190 (in line) in my P38 last winter. I parked it for the summer so I can’t give any real life input to how it would work in hot weather. My thought is that there should be no more tendency to overheat than a with a 180, as it will be fully open by 190. I wasn’t planning on changing it for the summer.
