mine leak a bit if you slide your finger under the thermostat sometimes you will feel coolant, i dont want to tighten to much, on my last install i used a gasket maker on top of the felpro gaskets that sealed nice
I finally got around to installing this kit. Everything seems good except for the the hose coming off the engine to the thermostat housing. To me it looks like it has too much of a kink in it. Has anyone else had this issue? I fiddled a lot with it trying to smooth it out, but it refuses. Should I try to find a replacement hose?
I can't get the photo to load but I pushed the hose further down the neck on the engine size until the bend was more appropriate and the housing wasn't resting on the hood liner when the hood is closed.

Tim,
Pushing it further down inst going to work for me, as the hose already is about 2mm from touching the top of the alternator pulley. I think I'll see if I can find a new 90 degree hose.
Right, looking at the photo again it almost looks like you have the housing too close the bend. They normally don't kink like that. I have a couple spare used hoses I am happy to send one.
Thanks for the offer Tim, but I found a solution. I went over to Advanced Auto and purchased a Dayco 1.25" ID hose (part # 70806) with a nice 90 degree bend in it. Now everything has lots of clearance and I couldn't be happier with the end results. I haven't driven it yet, but I did check the hood clearance, and nothing is touching. Thanks Tim for creating this kit. This will save countless D2's from the scrap yard
