Default Oil blowing out of front main

Tackling a low oil pressure issue with the 4.6 . New front cover and oil pump, timing chain and gears, new head gaskets, etc. Going down the road running great. No more low oil pressure light. All of a sudden a lot of smoke everywhere. Thought I popped the head gasket but it turns out it was oil spewing out of the front main seal. Flinging it everywhere and blowing everywhere. Big mess. Anyhow the new cover came with a new front main seal. I haven't had too many issues with these. Thoughts on maybe a PCV valve or something building pressure? It doesn't leak for the first 5 minutes of idling. Then it just starts gushing.

I’m not a fan of aftermarket seals. Your harmonic balancer may have a slight grove in it & the new aftermarket seal might not be sealing well to it. Ran into this issue on other vehicles. OEM seal solved the issue!

Shoot ya I ran it with the PCV vent on the valve cover and oil cap off. Same issue. Must just be the seal. Bugger

You probably have a plugged valve cover vent, that blew the seal, now its going to leak no matter even with the cap off. Remove the tube from the valve cover and check the baffle, good idea to do the pcv mod. With new seal check the crankcase pressure with a vinyl glove over the oil fill tube, cap off. You should get slight suction. Should not have a problem if that is the case.

Regarding the Crankshaft Seal ERR6490G, replace it once right the first time = CORTECO or die!!!!

My front seal was leaking very moderately but then all of the sudden it blew. A new seal didn't fix it, the shaft of the HB pulley (it had a just a very fine groove) was the culprit. After installing a new HB pulley along with a Corteco seal everything works fine (1,000+ miles driven so far). Here is the story: https://landroverforums.com/forum/di...lew-out-94128/
