Some trucks came from the factory with both oil and transmission coolers (mine included). There's plenty of airflow, and the electric fans are there in case the viscous fan isn't sufficient.

I checked my coolers (2000) and trans cooler with sensor, on bottom, and engine oil cooler on top.
