15/40w Shell Rotella, Mobil1 M301 Oil Filter.

I replace 1 quart of oil with 1 quart of Lucas Stabilizer for high mileage engines. Purrs like a kitten. But warning--I live where it is warm, so adding Lucas to your engine in NY winters may not be the best option.
After you do an oil change, wipe the bottom of the car with a degreaser. Let the engine run and use a small camera to see where the oil drips from. Diagnose. Diagnose. Diagnose. Before you start fixing anything. Many people on this forum spend fortunes fixes issues that never were ;-)

My 04 Disco SE7 with 80k miles original
I use T4. Tried a synthetic blend (T5) and oil leaks popped up...not horrible, changed back to dino (T4)...and they disappeared. Completely. Your engine seals will develop small micro-cracks within the rubber portion with age and synthetic has smaller molecules and squeezes through...whereas...dino won't. You will read/hear great debate in this area, especially by none certified folks. But, the proof is in the pudding and my 78, 84 cars and 01, 03 rovers leak like pigs on full synthetics...and I mean horribly.
Also, your oil leak looks to be coming down along bell-housing...most likely tapped cover gasket. Easy fix, just be sure to locate all four (on each side) of the small metal grommets that are in the original gaskets, while removing. They can fall down into the engine, having a magnet to retrieve them is paramount.

I drive it less than 2,500 miles/year in the San Fernando Valley area of Los Angeles (hot summers with temps into the 90s and 100s). I own it since 2010 (then 45k mes) now at 85k orig. miles.
I read much about the subject of synth v blend v conventional. Before this thread I did not know about the Shell brand that most everyone here is touting. I’m thinking on reverting to full dino 10w40. Looking on Walmart at Castrol GTX, Pennzoil and Pennzoil High Mileage.
History: it went to a body shop Collision Body Specialists for paint not an accident 2 yrs ago. That was a veritable nightmarish experience where they painted the whole v without my prior approval. It came out with several issues.
2) The 3 sisters have started to come on and off intermittently. Not much to do from what I read about this - basically when 3sis engaged > no ABS.
3) The break light Is now on. Likely a break oil leak from front right and/or its caliper.
I love my 04 Disco but hate leaks. Perhaps in a year I should change the entire engine to something else and if so what and where to get that done at. I don’t know!
Appreciate collective thoughts on all 3 matters from the seasoned and the experienced with my thanks in advance.
