Default Oil Leak

I have a 04 discovery. There is a plate right next to the oil drain (with six bolts on it). Looks like that where the leak is (around the gasket). Anyone had this problem before and know the est. repair cost is. Thanks for any replies.

Aren't you under warranty???
Take it to the dealer and have them fix it.

That plate on the transfer case is the "inspection plate".

Land Rover use liquid gasket at the factory to seal it.

I drained my transfer case, removed the inspection plate, cleaned off all the gunk and refitted the plate
but with a paper gasket which was listed in the spare parts guide for a Discovery Series I transfer case.
It matches perfect.

Leak gone!

That was 4 years ago. Now it looks like its leaking again. [&:]

Those leaky gaskets are the bane of Land Rover owners.....

4 years or 50,000 miles, Sorry.
As mentioned, if it is the inspection plate, do anafternoon project and do a quick reseal. If it is not t/case tell us what it is that you suspect to be leaking.
