Default Oil Leak 99 Disco 1

I lost the tension pulley which pulled the belt off. After replacing the pulley and belt, started the car and it is now leaking oil from what looks like the crank shaft pulley. Please help.

How bad is it leaking?
You can have that front crank seal replaced for not very much money.
It is $2 part and maybe a couple of hours labor.

No relationship exists between losing a belt and starting an oil leak unless the belt and the tensioner mangled something in the front of the engine. Do you see any damage there.

What ever happened with the pulley and belt wasn't the oil leak. That was caused by the Harmonic Balancer breaking into six pieces. Hope that is all the damage that was done. Trying to find a Harmonic Balancer now. Good luck to me.

Good for me, was able to locate the part in the area. Dealer had no idea when he would even be able to get one. He said he couldn't find one anywhere in the US. Well I'll let you know if any other damage was done once I get it back up and running. Have my fingers crossed. Thanks for the replies and help.

If you are having it done, have them at least throw a new front crank seal in. I would suggest pulling the front cover and replacing the timing set and the oil pump gear set, depending on your oil pressure numbers. I would throw a new water pump and t-stat in while you have it apart.
