Do you know how many times I read the word "caution" or "recommended" in a repair manual...enough that l don't look at them anymore...lol.

No, if it makes you feel better doing it by the book, then by all means...do that. And I get that. There is so much to know while working, building or whatever on a vehicle...so if it says do this or that...you're probably better off...especially, if you don't have the experience to know what is truly important and whats not. Not trying to be rude or anything, just saying. There are plenty of things I'm not sure of and would go by the book, too. Okay, maybe I wouldn't...but that may be why my life is so messed up in other areas...lol.
