Default oil pan and water pump gaskets. Gasket sealant needed?

Just curious if gasket sealant is needed for these gaskets? Thanks

technically; only on the coners of the oil pan by the mains. In real life yes use sealer.

I always use sealer on the water pump. Usually that Permatex which never hardens. I suppose you could use the blue Hylomar too that the Brit's like.

I have never done an oil pan. I appreciate dowssap's advice.
