Default Oil Pressure light at Idle

Firstly I have done a search and did not find what I was looking for

my )4 disco has in the las tweek developed an issue at idle where the oil light will come on. Rev it above 1k and the light goes off.

Was thinking to do an oil change and see if that helped as I had to put 1 quart of 0-40w min last week as I was low on oil

Thoughts?

I've seen this with other vehicles and the solution is as simple as cleaning the oil sending unit connection. Best thing to do is put an oil pressure testing gauge on your engine and find out your true oil pressure.

How long have you owned the truck?
0w-40 is to thin for the summer time (unless you live in Antartica), when oil gets hot it thins out and if it gets to thin it wont hold oil PSI.
10w-40 is a way better choice for these trucks.

Quit driving it and have a full oil pressure test done from cold at idle and at 2000 RPM's and when warm from idle and 2000 RPM's and get back to us with the numbers.
Quit using that 0W/40 oil and get up towards a 10W/40 plus for summer driving.
