I am in a full battle w/ Land Rover over my Disco S 2003 Oil Pump explosion. As stated before miles 36,000 (not many) and mainly local driving. Warranty up in April 2007. Currently sitting at dealership. They showed me the oil pumps gears which were in pieces from the "explosion." They say they will not pay. I contacted Customer Care at 1800 number. They are "discussing" the matter to determine if they will either do nothing or assit w/ a "goodwill gesture?" I expect them to pay in full. I am gathering all my info/data, have visited the National Highway Traffic Safety Admin to obtain complaints, & are preparing for the worst unfotunately. It is truly amazing that a company of this caliber, in which I was thoroughly pleased with up to a week ago, are playing around w/ this significant problem.I am still hopefully for thebest.

I am suprised that there hasnt been a class action suit against them for the oil pump and the u-joint problem.
I realize that they are strapped for cash, but I mean come on. A recall could save them thousands of customers.
