There are alot of threads on engaging your cdl if not equipped with the proper h/l shifter, and using a 10mm box wrench on the t case instead. But its unclear to me if and when using this method, do you have to put the transmission in neutral or can it be in park, drive etc..? I am unsure of how this works and I have never locked the diff using a 10mm but just in case I would need to do so does anyone know the answer to this?

So while the engine is running, and in park climb under there and turn it to the passenger side for cdl plus t.c. or turn engine off and do the same for just cdl. Awesome that's what I didn't know. I thought the truck may have to be in neutral like when shifting from high to low gear.
Thanks guys

I got an 04 style linkage with the shifter plate on ebay for $250. Well worth it in my opinion. Still looks stock and operates flawlessly. Of course I can certainly understand wanting to set it up for under a $100 which is possible... If you are patient though, deals are out there. Especially if there is a Rover graveyard anywhere near you, you might just strike gold... just my $.02

Did road/engine noise get considerably louder? That is one of the drawbacks I've experienced with my install. And I even used the shifter plate from the 04, then sealed it with RTV around the sides. It was a lot better than when I first put it in, but still noticeably louder than before I did the install.
