I am betting he removed the old motor and installed the "new" one and did nothing else.
Thats fine, thats what you paid him to do, if you wanted a tune up and gaskets changed you would have to pay for that too.
Go have the leaks fixed, then flush the cooling system, then do the plugs and wires.

 

it still poor practice to send something out without checking it for leaks, especially leaks so prominate.
