Default overheated - all cylinders misfire codes

My water pump blew out and i overheated for a min, wasn't too bad. I replaced the water pump. Fired her up and running like crap, tossed a barrage of misfire codes (basically all cylinders). I was about to order a rack a new spark plugs, but then I stopped thought that might be strange to foul out all 8 at the same time? 'm wondering if it's something more broad that would cause all the cylinders to misfire. I haven't checked the MAF yet. Anyways... what ya'll think and thoughts ideas much appreciated! Also along with the specific cylinder codes i have a P1300 global misfire code i think is what that is?

Would a intake gasket failure fire all these codes? Maybe cracked blew the seal in the overheat.

Overheated for a minute? A minute is a very long time for an overheat. How hot? Maybe you’ve done some more serious engine damage?

An overheat could warp or crack the heads. I don't think that is what happened in this case. It would destroy the intake manifold gasket before the warping i suspect. I don't have any coolant mixing in or anything. Anyways... fixing it regardless have to pick a starting point. I ordered some new spark plugs. I got a backup intake gasket if need be, that's pita to install so wait on that and hope it's something simple. imo you got overheat an engine pretty good and maybe several times to cause serious damage. I hope it's in the clear on serious engine damage.

Maybe check compression when you take the plugs out. A bit of head warp can cause the head gaskets to loose their seal.

Simplify it first. Unplug the oxygen sensors, and maybe the MAF. If the misfires return, focus on the ignition. If it is a blown hg you will get a single cylinder misfire for the bad cyl. If it is a blown intake gasket it might run a bit lean at idle, less so at speed. Doubtful enough to cause signficant misfire.

Thanks buddy - that’s helpful! The coil packs, wires were new just prior to the meltdown… I’ll go through check it all. I have my old coil packs and another set wires which are working I just tossed new stuff on so that will help test. Do you think the overheat can smoke cool packs and or wires? The plugs were also. They blacked out now. Pics aren’t great.

Could be ultra rich due to being so hot. Hotter temps, more fuel, may have reached rich limit.

Can you tell us the temperature range of your spark plugs, or the model number?
