Do a compression test if you have a tester.
pull your spark plugs and look for one that is cleaner than the other.
That will tell you if there is coolant entering the combustion chamber. Remember, there is enough pressure in the coolant system that it will suck a little bit in the combustion chamber while running. If you're losing a lot of coolant be careful that you don't hydrolock the engine. That's bad news bear right there...

Are the symptoms just that the idle is rough at startup? If it goes away once warm it is probably not the head gasket.

I just changed the plugs and they all looked the same. Rough idle goes away when warm and may be bad IAC. I am going to top off the Res and run it some to see if I lose any coolant. I heard about a combustion tester to test coolant also. I just do not want to through 500 on a new radiator if I have a head gasket leak.

I bought a block tester at napa for around $50. Ran the engine till hot and put the tester in overflow res. Pumped the ball and fluid stayed blue. Hopefully this means I do not have a blown head gasket. I still hear a little water swishing under the dash, even though I have purged the system of air. I purged this when the engine was cold: Filled overflow to top cap until coolant came out of purge hole in radiator, plugged purge hole while water was coming out, drained excess fluid out of overflow till water level was at middle seam, capped overflow off, started engine and squeezed top radiator hose until it became hot from coolant/engine temp.

YOu bleed the cooling system wrong, thats why you hear water in the dash, you have a air pocket.
Go to the write up section and follow the directions from there.
