Default P0103 and P1884 - Random MAF failure?

Hello folks. My LR sat for about a month while we moved cross country. Prior to that, it ran just fine but had lean codes on both banks.

I drove it up and down the driveway a few times when we got to where we were going and it was nearly dying off-idle.

I drove it to work today for the first time here and pulled codes. The lean codes are gone, but now P0103 and P1884 are there. It does just fine above idle conditions and is running great. But from an idle it stumbles a bit and seems to want to die.

Searching shows those codes are probably the MAF. I’m curious how it just went bad though, if it’s never been an issue before. I cleaned it probably 6 months ago, and maybe 2000-3000 miles ago.

Any ideas?

Did you try cleaning it again? Are you using MAF cleaner? Confirm that the sensor in there is a bosch sensor and is the right part number.

I'ld remove the MAF and the tube and clean it out. Also clean the idle air valve.

I haven’t removed it to try cleaning again yet. I did use MAF cleaner. I did the IACV, intake tube and TB when I did the MAF last.

Ill start with trying to clean again, it’s just weird that it only cropped up after sitting for a while.

Did you ever track down the issue? This seems to be exactly what's going on with mine as well.
