Default P0202 after intake manifold gasket replaced

Just picked up the truck from the mechanic. It's been there almost 2 weeks. Drove it out of his garage and the CEL started to flash. Took it back to him and code P0202 shows up on the scanner. Misfire on cylindar #2. Could this be because he was replacing the manifold gasket and got coolant on it?!?

He recommened I run some "heat" through the fuel tank to see if that clears up the injectors etc.

What are your thoughts? I had the wires and plugs replaced about 2 years ago and my wife only drives around 3000 miles per year in it.

Actually a P0202 would be injector wire for #2 injector loose or off. 302 would be misfire.....

Return to mechanic with that info, it may be just a wire is loose on that injector, or it may be the wire harness was pinched by manifold work. Here's the page from the Rover shop manual to print out and take with you.

Now to be fair, some code scanners come up with the right numbers but put in text that does not match the Rover manual. That is why we always ask people to right down the numbers. Probably a 30 second fix.

Also, hope he doesn't look like my mechanic....

Your mechanic is an fool if he didn't realize he knocked the injector wire loose. If he fights you on this and you paid by credit car then stop payment on his money till he fixes the problem.

Mike;

I droppped it off there this morning with the info Savannah Buzz gave me. Also printed him a copy of the Rave manul for future use. At this point in time, he seems a little embarrassed by it. Hoping he'll call me later to collect it.

I'll keep you posted.
